Cardano Seminar
「uncorrelated yield」。
Tether、Ondo、Ethena。

RealFi explained from the beginning, to an audience outside RealFi.
The whole thing rests on one bet — yield that doesn't move with crypto, built from lending into the real economy. And for the first time, a date for mainnet was said aloud: 1 October.
This is not a RealFi Office Hours session. It is a “Cardano Seminar” episode published on the Cardano Community YouTube channel, with RealFi's CEO as the guest. As a publicly published recording it is not covered by the Chatham House Rule and the speakers are named. Whether the channel is official has not been verified, so only the programme, channel and participants are recorded here.
In this session
Build yield that doesn't move with the Bitcoin price. That, he said, was the starting point of the design.
In a nutshell, RealFi is “a yield-bearing dollar backed by real economy assets.” The design was drawn from what the team saw as a massive gap in crypto.
There are, in his phrase, “a gajillion products” that generate yield — but almost all of them are correlated to the price of Bitcoin, to inflationary tokenomics (yield paid out of newly minted tokens), or to crypto rate cycles. Very few generate yield that is uncorrelated to those. That is the gap.
It is filled with a portfolio of real-world assets. Three were named: money market funds, CLO ETFs, and — “the part that's most exciting to me” — lending to fintechs that finance cash-flowing businesses.
slideThe opening slide lays these out as three pillars. Three things are on the slide but not in the audio: public bonds listed among the backing assets; a line about institutional-grade design — strict underwriting standards, compliance, transparency and guardrails; and, under the third pillar, the idea of letting DeFi-native capital reach productive credit markets that have historically sat behind institutional gates. The target return of roughly 8–10% APY is printed here too, as a target.
Uncorrelated yield the call's own words
When crypto sells off, yield generated inside crypto disappears with it. Repayments from fintech borrowers don't look at the Bitcoin price, so they don't — that is the sense in which the term is used. addedAs he concedes later, a different correlation is taken on instead: lending yield moves with global interest rates. “You exchange one correlation for another” (section 5).
Tether, Ondo, Ethena — what each does and where each runs out. RealFi is placed after them.
First the size of the market. Stablecoin market capitalisation is “probably around $350 billion currently,” with a 2030 range of $1.9 to 4 trillion. The fastest-growing slice is the yield-bearing category, which went from $2 billion to $27 billion over the last 24 months — “I actually did this deck probably four months ago, so I think it's actually larger now.”
slideThe slide carries sources. Actuals are attributed to the Fed and DeFiLlama; the two 2030 lines are Citi's base case ($1.9tn, 6×) and bull case ($4.0tn, 13×). The latest actual is $317bn as of April 2026 — a little under the “around $350 billion” said aloud. Four statistics sit beside the chart: $33tn of transaction volume settled in stablecoins in 2025, more than Mastercard and Visa combined; more than 20 jurisdictions with stablecoin-specific regulatory regimes; on-chain RWAs up 5× in three years to $12.7bn, with BCG projecting $16tn by 2030; and the yield-bearing category growing from $2bn to $27bn in 24 months. Sources cited: Federal Reserve FEDS Notes (April 2025), Citi GPS, Coinbase 2026 Outlook. addedThese are the slide's figures and sources; we have not verified them.
Yield-bearing stablecoins were then sorted into three generations.
slideThe slide tabulates the three generations and places RealFi as “Stablecoin V4.” What the slide adds is the wording of each generation's weakness: V1, zero yield to holders; V2, limited productivity — access-gated, with limited composability and liquidity; V3, a highly volatile, crypto-correlated yield that collapses in bear cycles. V4, RealFi, is anchored in short-duration income assets and direct fintech lending sourced globally, with ticks against high yield, stable non-crypto-correlated returns, and DeFi composability and liquidity. added“V4” is not said aloud; the speaker counts V2 and V3 and then moves to “our sort of take on this.”
RealFi's position is to take Ethena's model and swap the trade for a basket — a basket of real assets uncorrelated with crypto, attached to a stablecoin. The framing: a stablecoin “that actually does something in the world … versus just ultimately buying more US gilts and reducing America's borrowing cost.”
slideThe four-quadrant chart shown on screen, redrawn. Product placement is as on the slide; only the “aloud” lines were spoken. addedThe slide labels RealFi's target position “sUSDr Target,” not sUSDrf — it reads as a deck made before the rename. Where the other products sit is RealFi's assessment, not something we have checked.
addedWhat follows is our explanation, not something said on the call.
Hold the same asset both ways — buy it (spot) and sell it (a futures short). If the price rises, one side gains and the other loses; if it falls, the reverse. Price moves cancel out — that is “delta neutral” — and the pair is called a basis trade.
On crypto perpetual futures, buyers (longs) periodically pay sellers (shorts) a small amount: the funding rate. Because you receive it just for holding the short, it looks like a yield. Ethena turned it into a stablecoin's yield.
Bet on the same horse to win and to lose, and the race result can't hurt you. What's left is the fee you're paid for keeping one of the bets open. The weak point is that the fee sometimes flows the other way.
Ethena cancels the price and keeps the fee; RealFi keeps the interest on loans that never cared about the price. Neither bets on Bitcoin's direction — but they depend on different things: crypto market positioning in one case, the real economy and interest rates in the other.
USDrf earns nothing, sUSDrf earns the yield, RFG decides. What RFG decides is not yet decided.
slideThe token slide gives each a subtitle. USDrf is “the working dollar” — 1:1 USD-pegged, daily mint and redeem, instant transfer, meant for payments, DEX liquidity and treasury operations — with the line that RFG tokens accrue to every USDrf holder while portfolio yield does not. sUSDrf is “the productive dollar,” and its intended holders add fintechs and institutions to the list given aloud. RFG is “the upside ticket,” voting on take-rate and reserve policy — and anchor and strategic investors receive token warrants. That last point is never mentioned aloud.
addedThe speaker explains that USDR was “rebranded because of an exchange, to USDrf,” and calls the governance token RFG throughout. In the names settled by the vote covered in #7, the governance token is RLFG. This page records the names as used on the day; the mapping is in the glossary.
Asked what RFG holders actually vote on, the answer opened with “speaking honestly … this is something that we're still working on.” What is settled is what they should not vote on.
On direct value capture (fee sharing and the like): it is “the part that has got not only the most legal complexity around it, but also requires engagement with your customers and your community.” Launch will come with “a minimal set of launch permissions and rights,” then consultation — “a much lighter touch process than the Cardano governance process.”
Equity → stability fund → sUSDrf → USDrf. The plain stablecoin goes last, because that is what holds the peg.
The chat asked whether it is possible to lose money and, if so, how. The answer was the order in which losses land.
“Obviously, we want to make sure that there aren't any losses. But in the event that we get things wrong, this is how they would fall down.” USDrf goes last because “this is also what creates peg stability.”
addedThis is the same order first set out in #6 Ask the CEO. There it came with “I can't fully confirm this, but shortly I will be able to”; here it is stated without the caveat. How much sits in layers 1 and 2 is still not given.
addedOur reading, not something said on the call.
The question is fair. The phrasing here is “we can have de-risking capital, essentially equity, which can sit at the top.” Not “we have,” not “we raised.” In #6, “have raised” and “going to raise” appeared in the same explanation.
Why the order still matters. The stability fund is topped up “across time” from residual income, so on day one it is thin. Without equity, day-one losses land first on sUSDrf. Same order — very different amounts reaching holders.
How to check from outside. Whether the transparency portal or the fund administrator's NAV shows the equity balance as a separate line.
Was it given here? The order, yes. The amount and the timing of the equity, no.
Two books blended to 8–10%. Correlated to global rates and moved by the staking ratio — conditions the speaker listed himself.
The assets are split into two books — a short, outward-facing restatement of the two-book system explained in #8.
slideThe slide is titled “Two books. Four sleeves. One shared credit engine,” and the allocation is more specific than the audio. Book one (USDrf, the “instant access liquidity & peg book”): sleeve A at 45% in MMFs, T-bills and cash equivalents (T+0 to T+1); sleeve B1 at 25% in CLO ETFs (T+2 to T+7); sleeve C at 30% in direct fintech lending (one-year duration). Book two (sUSDrf, the “yield-led, cooldown-matched book”): sleeve B1/B2 at 50% in CLO ETFs and investment-grade corporate credit (T+2 to T+7); sleeve C at 50% in direct lending. The 8–10% target is stated as “after protocol take.” Each sleeve also carries an approximate gross yield — around 3.6% for A, around 6.2% for B1 (6.2–6.5% for book two's B1/B2), around 14% for C.
slideTwo footnotes. First, when a staker starts unstaking, the liability migrates from book two to book one over the seven-day cooldown, with book two assets sold and the proceeds redeployed into book one sleeves. Second, sub-sleeve B2 (corporate credit) is pre-approved but dormant at launch; activating it requires a formal Investment Committee resolution.
addedOne difference from the audio: the speaker calls book one's direct lending “a small portion,” while the slide puts it at 30%. And where #8 counted three sleeves (A, B1, C), this slide counts four, including the dormant B2. The per-sleeve gross yields are indicative figures printed on the slide — not a yield RealFi has offered, and not a yield anyone will receive.
Blended together, “this is what lets us target sort of 8 to 10% APYs.” The conditions follow immediately: “dependent on the staking ratio, dependent on global interest rates, dependent on a few things” — “it's a number that we're comfortable with at least at the moment and it's what we're going to be targeting for launch.”
addedThe 8–10% is a target as stated on the call — not a yield RealFi has promised, and not a yield anyone will receive. The same figure appears as a target in #7 and #8.
Asked whether it holds if T-bills drop well below 5%: “you exchange one correlation for another.” Fixed income is highly interest-rate dependent, so “absolutely we're going to be correlated with global interest rates. We're happy with that — there's more than enough products correlated internally within crypto.”
A second support was described: the staking ratio. USDrf earns no yield but is invested in the portfolio, so its share of the yield accrues to the protocol and “can basically be used to boost the yield which is offered to sUSDrf holders.” In Ethena's case only 50% stake, so half the portfolio yield can be redistributed. “It's still possible to defend those kind of yields even if global interest rates were falling, depending on that staking percentage.”
Larger institutional investors are locked up for longer, with incentives around that, so that “we feel more comfortable about redemption risk.” “With institutional investors like the one big one that we have at the moment, we have a longer lock up for them.”
addedWhat follows is our explanation, not something said on the call.
A CLO bundles many corporate loans and slices them by repayment priority (tranches). AAA is the slice that gets paid first — the safest piece. An ETF of those CLOs trades on an exchange, so it is liquid. It yields a little more than T-bills in exchange for a thin slice of corporate credit risk.
Say the pool holds 100 and only 50 is staked. All 100 is invested and earns, but only the 50 has a claim on the yield. The other 50's yield stays with the protocol. Hand it to the staked 50 and yield per unit doubles. The more people stake, the thinner the boost.
A building's shared income — parking fees, say — split only among the residents who joined the owners' association. While few have joined, each gets more.
The 8–10% is “lending yield plus a top-up from the unstaked share.” Falling rates thin the first; rising staking thins the second — exactly the two dependencies the speaker named.
25 fintechs, 40 transactions, 10 countries, a million loans a year. “Track records is something you can't buy.”
Under “why should you trust us,” the past strategy was laid out: fintech lending run for the last few years with $11.5 million of capital at a 20% IRR, across 25 fintechs, 40 transactions and 10 emerging-market countries. Broken down to end impact, “a million loans a year.”
Underwriting runs on what they call the RealFi 360 data model, matching four layers: all borrower information → the loan tapes received from the fintechs → their management accounts → the actual cash movements between bank accounts.
He avoids the phrase “banking the unbanked.” The lending is “more about providing capital to underbanked but very solid businesses” — productive, lendable, with dire needs for finance because the credit gaps are big. Chosen because it “has needs right here and right now.”
slideThe track-record slide attaches important qualifications to the spoken numbers. The IRR is “20.25% blended,” and the footnote splits it: $7m at 23% deployed by Mobilis, led by the head of investments before joining RealFi, and $4.5m at 15.96% deployed by RealFi itself. It is an expected IRR, “includes unrealised investments and is unaudited.” Capital went to sleeve C-equivalent assets. The slide also lists 25+ portfolio companies, 40+ disbursements, 10+ countries, direct lending that “may include trade finance / revenue-based financing,” and describes RealFi 360 as daily borrower data plus a 12-factor proprietary scoring model, underwriting and monitoring EM credit since 2023 with zero loss events post-underwriting.
addedA questioner says “11.3 million”; the CEO says “11.5 million”; the slide says $11.5m. Aloud, the strategy was simply “what we've been doing for the last few years.” The footnote shows that $7m of the $11.5m was deployed by a predecessor operation, not RealFi, and that the 20% figure is an unaudited expectation including unrealised positions.
addedOur reading, not something said on the call.
A fair question. “20% IRR” and “8–10% target” sit in the same talk.
Why both hold. The 20% is fintech lending alone — what book two holds. The stablecoin blends that with book one's money market funds and CLO ETFs at around 5%, and then the protocol's take rate comes off. Blend, then subtract, and it falls.
How to check from outside. The allocation shown on the transparency portal, and the fee rate RFG will vote on. With those two, the gap between 20% and 8–10% can be reconstructed.
Was it given here? 20%, around 5%, and 8–10% were said aloud. The allocation and the per-sleeve gross yields are on the slide (section 5). The fee rate appears only as “after protocol take”; the rate itself is neither said nor shown.
Cardano on 1 October, EVM a month later, $100m around the turn of the year, RFG in Q1–Q2. “A very detailed slide which ends in a billion dollars.”
Every TVL figure was given as a target. The host heard “a billion by the end of the year”; the correction was immediate: “100 million.”
slideThe slide has five phases: phase 1 (Q3 2026) Cardano institutional testnet → phase 2 (Q3 26) Cardano mainnet launch, $50m TVL → phase 3 (Q4 26) cross-chain expansion (EVM/SVM), $100m → phase 4 (Q1/Q2 27) RFG token launch, $500m → phase 5, “maturity & optimization,” $1bn. addedThree differences from the audio. The slide puts mainnet in Q3 26; 1 October, as said aloud, is Q4 — the deck is four months old. The $500m milestone is not mentioned aloud. And SVM (Solana) is on the slide, which reads as the source of the questioner's SVM question — the answer covered EVM only.
The current phase is the “institutional testnet.” Cardano mainnet follows on 1 October, with a target of around $50 million of TVL across that phase. A month later comes the EVM launch, “where we can probably start seeing larger numbers with vault curators creating vaults for us across all of the big EVM DeFi venues.” Alongside: institutional sales, CEXs, programmes. Around $100 million by the turn of the year; “much larger numbers” after that if product-market fit is there; RFG in Q1 or Q2; then a billion.
Each stage was given its own difficulty. “100 million's getting 10 institutions to say yes — hard but achievable.” A billion to ten billion needs “that loop” to be useful to retail and DeFi players alike. The gating factor is credit risk: trust and conviction have to be built, and “track records is something you can't buy,” so “it might be a slower ramp up for us.”
addedOn timing: #6 (14 August) said “around mid-September”; #8 (28 August) said a date would be announced very shortly. This is the first time 1 October was said aloud — about two weeks later than the #6 estimate.
He also said he was “really excited about the AlphaGrowth proposal going through,” since looping strategies and similar DeFi plumbing are what make a product like RealFi useful. addedThis is the PRIME proposal introduced in the A Dose of Alpha episode; its passing was confirmed in #6 (14 August) — “Alpha Growth also won their proposal.” Whether funds have actually moved was not covered here either.
A programme for small pools only, three doors in — Lace, Sundae, Liqwid — and what Japanese SPOs said.
The SPO programme was restricted to small pools, one to twelve million ADA delegated: “we're really trying to focus on the sort of underserved end of the network.” A points system, with points redeemable for governance tokens at some future point, and SPOs earning a percentage of the rewards their delegators earn by doing things in the testnet.
Two results were given: 84% of participating SPOs grew their delegator base over the period, against 17% in the control group; and “5,000 real humans” ran through the test app programme over six to eight weeks.
slideThe SPO slide, headed “We backed Cardano's smallest pools,” has three boxes. The offer — “no rewards given up”: delegators earn points just for delegating to a participating pool, the SPO takes a 20% share of what their delegators earn, plus co-marketing, shared materials and pool listings. The target — single pools of 1M–12M ADA, “delegation pulled from a small pool may never come back,” and 92 SPOs onboarded from 102 applications. The result — 84% against 17%, “measured on-chain across the first three weeks,” and “~4,900 genuine testnet wallets at 30 July.” A strip along the bottom lists what SPOs teach their delegators: secure your ADA → decentralise through independent SPOs → support network health with real activity → reasons to stay active with ADA → participate in RealFi.
addedThe 84% and 17% are the same figures shown in #4 Data & Insights, where the presenter declined to claim causation. How “real humans” are identified was not described here either. The “5,000 real humans” said aloud appears on the slide as “~4,900 genuine testnet wallets” — the count is of wallets, not people. The SPO's 20% share and the 92-of-102 figure are slide-only. The five-step teaching strip is the “train the trainer” idea from #7.
Three doors open on 1 October.
The slide's bottom strip shows the same five steps — sUSDrf as collateral → borrow USDCx → swap to USDrf → stake → repeat — under the heading “looping sUSDrf for greater exposure.” addedLeverage amplifies losses as well as gains — #5 Go To Market works through a numerical example.
slideThe go-live slide is headed “What goes live on Cardano, 1 October — put your ADA to work without selling it,” and is more specific than the audio in four places. Swap & stake happens “in the app, or inside Lace,” and it is “the partner SDK” that puts swap-to-stake inside Lace. The Sundae pools are USDrf/USDCx and sUSDrf/USDrf, there so users can “move in and out on-market, without going near mint and redeem.” Liqwid offers two routes: deposit ADA, borrow against it at a fixed rate and keep the ADA — or post sUSDrf as collateral in its own isolated market. And the 86% figure is attributed on the slide to “Japanese SPO delegators surveyed.”
The reason the Liqwid product is shaped this way: “when we surveyed the Japanese SPOs, 86% of them said they'd rather borrow than sell that ADA to do stuff.” It is “a curated product around some of the feedback that we had.” addedThis is the first number from the Japan survey that #7 said had gone out that day. The question wording and the number of respondents were not given. Aloud it is “the Japanese SPOs”; on the slide it is their delegators — the two describe the respondents differently.
“I think we're going to have an announcement going out today to the community, to the public about this, so no spoilers, please.”
Regulation, the bridge, on-ramps, transparency, Ethena Pay, transaction counts. The substance is here; the exchanges are in the Q&A section.
The US, EU and UK are out of scope. “We have the same setup as Ethena and the same restrictions as Ethena. And they achieved 17 billion dollars of TVL. So I would say our current structure and setup is non-prohibitive of scale.” The mechanics: RealFi itself cannot face off to institutions or individuals in those regions. Anyone who comes to the dApp from a restricted region is geoblocked — but “our responsibility mostly ends there.” The secondary market can't be controlled: “that's how crypto works.” Mint and redeem partners only from regions they are comfortable with; the same for CEXs, with due diligence and RealFi's own legal guidance, distribution being the CEX's call. “The US is the highest risk area and is the one that CEXs normally most risk us on.”
addedIn #6 the line was “no plans to meet MiCA or GENIUS — for a number of reasons,” with the reasons unstated. They are still unstated, but the excluded regions are now concrete.
The bridge is a fork of CCTP. USDC comes into Cardano through it; on the way out “we've basically done our own version which we've internalized.” Ethereum also gets a native issuance contract and a native staking contract: “the EVM experience is seamless but canonical accounting happens on Cardano.” added#6 described a planned move from the CCTP fork to LayerZero; LayerZero was not mentioned here. The questioner also raised SVM (Solana); the answer covers EVM only.
On- and off-ramps vary “hugely on country's country.” Some countries go from local currency to USDC or USDT cheaply — Binance P2P markets, for instance — and some are “really really expensive.” The pair that has to work is mobile money into USDrf. Countries where people can get in and out cheaply become the natural launch markets. “It's possible in every country, it's just at what cost.”
Sleeve C transparency has four layers. Asked whether bad debt could occur without participants knowing: “the answer is yes, you do know about it.” The transparency portal (how sleeve C is invested, and its valuation); the fund administrator's NAV; an independent credit evaluator, “I think we're looking at twice a year”; and the fund's audit. The evaluator is added because “your fund admin is not the be all and end all evaluation.” addedWho the evaluator is was not said, and “twice a year” is “looking at” language.
Ethena Pay: “I really like it. I'm just going to be honest.” It is close to what he has long seen as RealFi's next evolution — “I actually started with that concept and then backtracked into focusing more on the protocol part.” But Ethena built itself as a single basis trade, which makes shifting strategy hard; a long blog post moving toward RealFi's strategy and then backing out “I was quite concerned by.” “It's not necessarily that one strategy is better than another but they're just different strategies.” If RealFi reaches that stage, the focus would be emerging markets — an application for “someone in Argentina who's had many many currency crises.”
Not many transactions. “This is not a high frequency product. If you buy USDR, you stake it, you get your yield, you're not necessarily doing a lot then with it.” Buy and hold, or buy and loop. The neo-banking picture — a debit card on the balance, savings, moving out of a fast-depreciating local currency, buying from Amazon, zero-cost transfers across the network — has “the outlines of the product,” but the yield engine comes first. No transaction estimate was given.
The yield source, the three tokens, the defences, and Cardano. Everything on this call bundles into four.
“Uncorrelated” sits in the middle. Around it: who it is sold to (the tokens), how it is defended (the waterfall, the regions, the transparency), and where it starts (Cardano).
Six from the chat, four from the stage, two from the host.
Matus (chat)What does high yield mean in USD terms? Is it possible to lose money, and if so, how?
The first half: a target of 8–10% on sUSDrf, dependent on the staking ratio and global rates. The second: the loss waterfall (section 4) — equity, stability fund, sUSDrf, USDrf. “Obviously we want to make sure there aren't any losses, but in the event we get things wrong, this is how they would fall.”
Anonymous (Q&A)What will RFG holders actually vote on — protocol parameters, treasury allocations, something else?
“Speaking honestly, this is something that we're still working on.” Settled: not specific investment decisions. Possible: which funds are included, who manages, the fee rate, how protocol value is distributed. Light touch at launch.
Matus (chat)Will it stay at 8–10% even if T-bills drop significantly below 5%?
“You exchange one correlation for another” — it will be correlated with global rates, and that is accepted. Plus the unstaked share of the yield can be redirected to sUSDrf, so “depending on that staking percentage” the level can be defended. Not a flat yes.
Anonymous (Q&A)Beyond governance, will RFG capture value directly — fee sharing, treasury participation — or is it kept pure governance for now?
The part with “the most legal complexity” and the most need for consultation. A minimal set of launch rights, then expand. “A much lighter touch process than the Cardano governance process.” Neither a yes nor a no.
Denicio (host)Based on the field work and research, what was the outcome on demand? Is there appetite from institutions and investors?
“I believe so.” Crypto treasurers care about yield and risk, and the capital is flighty, so incentives are needed. $100m is “getting 10 institutions to say yes.” The real question is the next step, a billion to ten billion, which needs the loop to work for retail and DeFi. No survey result was given.
Matus (chat)How can I obtain RUSD — only via DEX, or also via a centralised exchange?
On CEXs: “the one cardinal rule … is don't talk about centralized exchanges that you're going to be listing on. So I have no comments.” The DEX route “is Sundae at the moment.” added“RUSD” in the question reads as USDrf.
Denicio (host)What is your projection for transactions in the first year after launch?
“This is not a high frequency product.” Buy and hold, or buy and loop. Transactions come later, with a neo-banking experience on top; the starting point is the yield engine. No estimate was offered.
MatthewYour thoughts on the announcement of Ethena Pay?
“I really like it. It's a great product.” Close to what he had long seen as RealFi's next step. Ethena is locked into a single basis trade and backed away from a move toward RealFi's strategy. “Not that one strategy is better than another — they're just different.” RealFi would eventually focus on emerging-market applications.
SamIf US, European and UK residents can't mint, redeem or use the app, is emerging-market demand really enough to reach the scale you imagine? What's holding you back?
“The same setup as Ethena and the same restrictions as Ethena — and they achieved 17 billion.” RealFi can't face off to those regions and geoblocks the dApp, but can't control the secondary market. Mint/redeem partners and CEXs only from comfortable regions. “The US is the highest risk area.”
SamEVM and SVM are on the roadmap — what bridge infrastructure will this multi-chain asset use?
A fork of CCTP: in through the bridge, out through an internalised version. Native issuance and staking contracts on Ethereum, with “canonical accounting on Cardano.” SVM was not addressed.
Jean (chat)How do you deal with on- and off-ramps in emerging markets, and how do you onboard users converting fiat to crypto and back?
“It varies hugely on country's country.” Cheap in some, expensive in others, depending on infrastructure. The pair that has to work is mobile money into USDrf; the cheap countries become the natural launch markets. “Country by country is how you've got to approach it.”
SamMost of the funds sit in sleeve C. Is RealFi required to show a risk metric on the underlying debt? Can bad debt occur without participants knowing?
“The answer is yes, you do know about it.” Four layers: the transparency portal, the fund administrator's NAV, an independent credit evaluator (twice a year, they are looking at), and the fund audit.
The order was given and the date was given. The amounts and the results were not.
No numberHow much equity sits at the top of the waterfall, and when is it paid in?
“We can have” de-risking capital. Neither the amount nor the timing was given — carried over from #6.
UnansweredWhat did the demand research actually find?
The host asked for the outcome of the research; the reply was “I believe so.” No figures from it were given.
No numberTransactions in the first year.
“Not a high frequency product.” No estimate.
WithheldCEX listings.
“Don't talk about centralized exchanges that you're going to be listing on.” The “positive discussions” mentioned in #7 remain unnamed and undated.
Not namedWho the independent credit evaluator is.
“Twice a year” is “looking at” language; no evaluator was named and no first report was dated.
Slide onlyToken warrants for anchor and strategic investors.
The RFG slide says anchor and strategic investors receive token warrants; it is never mentioned aloud. Who, how much, and on what terms is not on the slide either.
Rate not givenWhat the protocol take is.
The slide states the 8–10% target as “after protocol take,” but the rate itself appears neither aloud nor on the slide. It is listed as something RFG will vote on, so it should surface by launch.
Not named“The one big one that we have at the moment.”
One large institutional investor is on a longer lock-up. Who, how much, and how long were not said.
About this page. This conversation is based on a recording published on YouTube and is not covered by the Chatham House Rule; the speakers are named. The original video is here (Cardano Community channel; whether it is an official channel has not been verified).
The source transcript, with speaker labels and timestamps, had its proper nouns checked by the requester before delivery. The host appears as “Dentio” in the transcript; the on-screen caption confirms the spelling as Denicio MacKenzie Bute, and that one word is corrected.
Slides were shown. All ten slides were received from the requester as screenshots (the opening three pillars, market size, the V1–V4 comparison, the four-quadrant chart, the three tokens, two books and four sleeves, track record, roadmap, the SPO programme, and the 1 October go-live) and are reflected here with the slide mark. Unmarked passages were spoken aloud. The deck carries a “Proprietary” footer (a copyright notice), so it is paraphrased rather than quoted. The loss waterfall, as the speaker said himself, was not on a slide, so that section rests on the audio alone. The four-quadrant figure is redrawn from the slide; the other figures are drawn from the spoken description.
Passages marked added were written by us to help the reader and were not said on the call.
